Find the grade needed on your final exam to achieve a desired course grade.
Unweighted grades average all assignments equally. Weighted grades assign different importance to each component — a final exam worth 40% contributes more than homework worth 10%. Weighted grading more accurately reflects each assessment's importance.
Multiply each score by its weight (as a decimal), then sum all results. For example, 80 on a 30% assignment contributes 80 × 0.30 = 24 points. The total of all weighted components is your final grade.
Enter your current grade, target grade, and the final exam's weight percentage. The calculator determines exactly what score you need on the final to achieve your desired course grade.
Common thresholds: A = 90–100%, B = 80–89%, C = 70–79%, D = 60–69%, F = below 60%. Thresholds vary by institution — always verify the grading scale used in your specific course.
